The second week of NYC's phased-reopening plan began on Monday, a continuation of the transition that has the city on track to enter Phase 2 as early as next week. For office users closely monitoring commuter trends and ridership numbers, last week provided the first glimpse at the increased activity in and around the city:
- The MTA reported a 19% increase in subway riders
- 3-6 PM was the busiest travel time during the week
- 400,000 employees returned to work across the city

Vehicle traffic ticked up as well, with most commuters choosing to travel by car vs public transportation:

The MTA has rolled out a 13 point plan to help its various departments accommodate the increased number of travelers and the next several weeks will serve as a strong indication as to how effective these precautions will be.
